Families interested in homeschooling must register with the Lee or Collier County School District by filing a letter of intent. Parents must also maintain a portfolio logging each student’s educational activities, and provide an annual evaluation, which may include the Florida Standards Assessment, among other required actions. Christian Home Educators Association of Collier County

This group is dedicated to providing information, support, and encouragement to local Christian home school families. Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at CenterPoint Community Church on Golden Gate Parkway.

Florida Parent Educators Association

The FPEA serves thousands of homeschooling families in Florida, delivering a wealth of support, guidance, and information to both new and longtime home educators. The “FPEA Experience” involves a banding together of homeschoolers to accomplish the task of developing academic and personal excellence by sharing resources, creating connections, enhancing relationships, and breaking down barriers.

Florida Virtual School / Lee Virtual School

Florida Virtual School (FLVS) is a free online public school offering more than 150 courses. FLVS gives homeschoolers the ability to enroll in courses 365 days a year and the choice to take courses online while learning during the summer or the school year. Homeschoolers can chart an educational path around individual needs, hobbies, activities, and travel. Lee Virtual School provides full-time, K-12 virtual instruction that follows the school district calendar and provides access to many of the same courses as they would in a traditional school, including Advanced Placement and dual enrollment, along with the flexibility of participating in electives and sports at local schools. Students who complete the virtual course of study receive the same accredited diploma as any other public school. Lee Virtual School is a franchise of FLVS.

Heart and Home Christian Homeschoolers

This parent-led support group provides a network of like-minded families seeking information, friendship, advice, activities, encouragement, and opportunities to enrich the education their children receive at home.

Homeschoolers of Collier County

Homeschoolers of Collier County coordinates park days, field trips, art events, potlucks, clubs, holiday parties and other get-togethers to provide opportunities to meet and make homeschooling friends. Members live in  Naples, Marco Island, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, and other nearby cities and towns.

Southwest Florida Homeschooling Families

This volunteer-based group welcomes all homeschooling families, regardless of religious beliefs, educational philosophy, or curriculum method, for support and activities.
